A couple of weeks ago, I asked if anybody else had ever had pink discharge, and sadly, no one was able to comment. In the meanwhile, I've been nosing around on the web and found that the Mayo Clinic page on vaginosis (of which yeast infections are a type) lists slight bleeding as one of the possible symptoms of vaginosis! I was very relieved to find something out there that mentioned this symptom, so I thought I'd share it with y'all. Just in case.

Date: 2003-10-25 01:05 am (UTC)Anyway, I've had a bit of mid-cycle bleeding now and then (not related to vaginosis). My doctor thinks it's just hormonal. Generally, it resolves itself, so I don't tend to worry about it.

Date: 2003-10-25 01:18 am (UTC)It just makes me wonder, am I star-crossed with my lover? We're doing the long distance thing, so when we do get together, we have frequent sex. And now twice I've come down with yeast infection/UTI combo after one of these bouts of sexual activity.
We started using condoms to separate his fluids from mine, and that seemed to help (thank goodness he's not one who deals badly with condoms).
How common is this? To be sensitive/allergic to your partner's fluids? That's what I'm beginning to think is going on.

Have you asked your Dr. what he/she thought?

Date: 2003-10-25 09:15 am (UTC)if you're not, make sure you *always* pee after sex. I find that wiping off with a warm washcloth or a baby wipe after helps some too, as does sleeping without underwear. i had a rash of infections a while ago, and those things seemed to help some. (I also started taking acidophilus supplements, because acidophilus is good for vaginal health - it's one of the healthy types of bacteria that your vaginal needs, and it often present in low levels in people who get infections easily). it is tough though - I had to treat BV 4 times before it finally left me alone, and I still get yeast from time to time, but not nearly so often.
