zoloft and sex

This is sort of a reverse of the usual question: 
Since starting zoloft I've bad two of the BEST orgasms I've ever experienced.  I know that anti-depressants have been known to kill sex drives but I'm wondering if it has had the opposite effect on me.  Is this just  a coincidence?

Since I've started my anti-depressant, my orgasms have been better as well! i think it depends on the person!

not much of a helpful input, but that's so interesting to me. i don't think i've ever heard of that, let alone experienced it. i haven't taken antidepressants for about 2 years now, but i was on various types for years (longest was effexor) and i didn't want to have sex at all. not once, the thought of it was something completely uninteresting to me. you've found the right medicine! haha.

Well, depression also kills sex drives. I think that some people don't experience the sexual side effects from anti-depressants, and DO experience a uptick in sexual functioning (that phrase is wrong, but you catch my drift) as a "side effect" of having treated their depression.

And, not to be a downer or anything, but my anti-libido effects from SSRIs took a few months to build up...

I used to take Zoloft for anxiety issues, and it totally killed my sex drive. You lucked out!

considering that any given individual can have not-the-"normal"-reaction to any given medication, huzzah for you for getting the good one! :D

Actually I have indeed heard that some anti-depressants can have that effect. Mine has a potential to either increase sensitivity and orgasm frequency/intensity, or decrease it. And I got the decrease. :( but I don't let it stop me, hehe.

I know since I started taking Lexapro my orgasms have been "delayed" or whatever you call it... they last longer! This may be the same case for you? It's all about brain chemicals and that stuff :)

I think it definitely depends on the person. Zoloft didn't effect my sex drive but it made me anorgasmic. Lexapro has had the complete opposite effect and my sex drive/orgasms or back in full effect. I love it. I just have to delay taking it until after I have sex (if it's nighttime) because I've noticed a slight dulling effect.

I don't think that Zoloft affected my orgasms at all. If anything, it might have made it easier. If I remember correctly, I had a bit of a negative effect when I upped my dose 3 years ago, but it was temporary.

what dose were you on? I'm currently taking 50 mg

I was on 25 mg, then 50mg, then 75mg and then 100mg. My current is 100mg. I don't take it for depression, so maybe that has something to do with the effect it has.

I'm on it mostly for OCD. I do get depressed, but my OCD/panic attacks are definitely more prevalent.

My psychiatrist told me that zoloft would basically make my sex life suck. For me, it doesn't HELP, but it's not the horrible hindrance that effexor was.
