I really need to stop posting here. But you all are more helpful than doctors...
I just had my Mirena insertion and D&C last Thursday.
I've been feeling ill, but I have a bleeding disorder, so all of the blood loss has caused me to feel as if I'm anemic again.
Today I woke up dizzy, nauseous, and irritable. I had a BM around 9 am, and another one just now. I have a history of internal hemorrhoids and possible anal fissures. I haven't been able to tell if Ive been bleeding with BMs lately because of the vaginal bleeding/use of pads (can't tell which hole, i guess!). Anyway, I'm posting a graphic picture of...my poop. It looks fine, but I have tiny flakes of what seem to be blood clots (?) because its not just regular liquidy blood. I just need some help. I don't know if I'm having internal bleeding or something (I'm a worrier). I'll post the picture of the whole thing first, then a zoom of just the clot things.

The big picture (Don't click if you don't like poop.):

The flakes (The doodle is a big black squiggle...looks like a terrible BM, but I swear, is just a cover-up):

Please help :(

(I apologize greatly for being the most common poster on this thing. I feel totally dumb and incompetent but nobody here believes my issues and it's all I really have.)

Is it possible it is something you ate? Sometimes after eating watermelon I have seen stuff like that in the toilet.

Just so you know if the bleeding is from higher up towards your stomach it will be black. The bright red comes from the end of the colon, such as hemorrhoids :) I am having my own never ending hemorrhoid nightmare for like 9 months now, so I am an expert on butt bleeding!

it really looks like pimiento...seems too bright red for blood tissue.

The kind of internal bleeding you have to really worry about is when you get black, tar-like blood, or otherwise dark, semi-digested/aged blood, in the stool. Bright blood is more likely to be a low-down anal fissure or hemorrhoids -- something that may be painful, but isn't life-threatening.

So long as you aren't pooping black, tarry stuff? Or lots of fresh, red stuff? Then while a doctor visit may be in the cards to check things out, don't panic.

Tto differentiate between anal and vaginal bleeding:
1. wipe everything first
2. wait a minute for the bleeding to continue
3. with fresh tp, dab first the vaginal opening, look at the tissue
4. dab the rectal area with new tp, examine the tissue

Also, Beth's point about worrisome rectal bleeding versus less-scary is a good one.

As for the flakes, I don't know why they occur, but they definitely do! I first noticed them when I was using my menstrual cup. Menstrual blood is even less homogeneous than blood from our veins.
