Thanks to the recommendations here, I just bought my first 2 dildos, both Tantalus pure silicone toys. I won't be able to use them for a little while yet, and I plan on setting them on my desk to stare at until I get used to the idea of them (some penetration-related anxiety). Of course, they're both lint/dust magnets. Is the best way to store them just open, or would it be better to keep them in their plastic casing/box? I'm trying to prevent pre-use washing (I would prefer only to have to do post-use washing, if it's possible) and also prevent dust and lint from getting in my bits, as well.

i put mine in their lint bags and then into a "toy box" that locks. i have paranoia though. i think if you just put them in their lint bags into a normal box they would be okay.

You could, if you want to keep them visible, go to a craft store and see if they have any clear plastic boxes that you could tuck them into, maybe?

A zip-lock plastic bag might be okay?

This is what I do! In a ziplock, I can see which one is in which bag, and I feel like it's probably cleaner than a box or fabric bag.

So do I! My Tantus toys live in zip-lock freezer bags, since those are a little bigger and heavier-duty than sandwich bags.

When I leave mine out I just rinse them prior to use - which isn't a huge deal. A splash of water and done. :) Everything at my house attracts cat hair in about ten seconds, so... sometimes even if the thing hasn't been out very long, it requires a rinse.

make sure you don't store them together as silicone likes to fuse with silicone. My friend lost two sex toys that way.

WHUT?! Wow, thanks for the tip. *runs to see if any toys are stored in the same bag*

I think this is usually only a problem without 100% silicone toys, but definitely better safe then sorry!

It's actually opposite. Mystery material toys tend to bond together. 100%, medical grade silicone should be stable.

yeah, that's what I said... it's only a problem if your toys aren't 100% silicone, lol.

I don't know if storing them in baggies is wise. Menstrual cups are also made of silicone and they specifically say not to store in anything that's airtight. I recently bought a package of microfiber "lint-free" cloths from the dollar store. What if you rolled your toys up in those? Or if you're crafty, sew little storage bags from them?
