possible pregnancy?

I'm thinking it's fairly unlikely that I'm pregnant but my period is MIA so I'm coming to ask some objective people. My husband and I had totally unprotected sex on Valentine's Day which was the 25th day of my cycle. 3 days later I got my period as expected, it was maybe a tiny bit shorter than normal at around 3 days of bleeding but it was just as heavy as it usually is. Now my period is due again and is not showing any signs of coming. I'm usually 28 days like clockwork so that's the only reason I'm even wondering. Worth $1 for a test or is it just silly since I had a period between the sex in question and now?
Thanks everyone!

Date: 2011-03-18 04:12 pm (UTC)Decidual bleeding, on the other hand, has a whole bell-curve of period-like behavior, from light spotting to, anecdotally, a heavy enough bleed to fool people. (It primarily fooled me because I'd had light, spotty periods that year we dispensed with the condoms. That and I didn't know someone could bleed and be pregnant!)
However, 3 days from sex to period is not really enough time to get pregnant from that sex, and it'd take some really long-lived sperm and an amazingly early ovulation to get pregnant after the period. So I'd say that $1 would primarily be a "mental health" test, to confirm or deny and get rid of little nagging "yes/no?" questions in the mind.

It still sounds unlikely but testing won't hurt. When is it actually due? Today, soon, or a few days ago?
