Today I tried what some of you said, like pushing the tampon towards my lower back, and it totally worked!! I can't even feel it!! I'm so overjoyed because I was beginning to HATE pads! Wow!! I must sound so stupid but i'm just amazed that i can't feel it. Lol. But i do have a question...is there any chance of um leakage or something? And we're only supposed to wear them up to 8 hours right?

yes. it depends on your body how much you have to worry about leekage. I've found i generally leek around tampons regardless of the brand (which is one of the reasons i dont use them anymore). I'd say err more on the no more than 6 hours side. If you're heavy you may need to change them every 2 hours or so. a lot of it depends on your body. Also - make sure you adjust the absorbancy to your flow. use lighter ones on light days. when you're just a trickle you might want to use pads or pantyliners instead.

hahaha that's so cute.

i remember when i first tried the tampon and i couldn't get it to work then months later, i tried it again and i was like hot damn, that's so great.

tampons are waaaaay better than freaking pads.

Yay! :)

It is possible to leak a little bit, but if you notice that happening, just wear a pantiliner too so you won't stain your underwear (one of the little thin ones- make sure it's unscented though, scented things can cause yeast infections and other problems).

And yes, only up to 8 hours at a time, because it's safer that way. The information that comes with the tampons probably goes into why - keeping tampons in longer than that can cause infection and raises your risk of getting TSS.

Congratulations on figuring out tampons! Happy bleeding! :)

As far as leakage goes, it depends both on the person and on the brand. Some people experience leakage no matter what kind of tampon they use. For me, Tampax always leak, whereas Playtex and Natracare do not.

When I used tampons, I would try to change every 6 or 7 hours, with 8 being the very maximum. Don't leave them in longer than that.

also, with leakage, if it's heavier than expected, it could leak. as in, you thought you just needed a regular, turns out *oops* you needed a super, and 3 hours later, the regular is full, it could start leaking a bit.

the 8 hours is a good rule. but also, if you are wearing it for 8 hours, try the next absorbancy down. multi-pack boxes are crazy good.

i use to wear pantyliners no matter what. leakage and when you should change your tampon is based upon your menstrual flow. if you're heavy, you should change often. and, i for safe measures would change every 2-4 hrs even with light flow. at nite, it's a bit different. of course, i am going solely off of when i could use tampons. i no longer can use them, due to endometriosis and toxic shock syndrome. try to change them when you can, even if they aren't full, and take some time on the toilet to let it flow out (your body needs that). Check your box of tampons for the side effects of tss, and if you ever have those symptoms remove your tampon and see a doctor. (tss is not common, so don't worry about it less you have these symptoms.) I am glad to see you can use them now. I didn't comment on your last post, for not knowing what to say.
take care~ :)

Congrats!
When I'm bleeding heavily I change mine about every two to three hours. Most of the time I wear a pantiliner just to be safe. Further into my period I only change them about every five to six hours. :>
