So this is a little awkward for me to talk about but I'm worried so here it goes. In the past few months I've noticed that around my vaginal opening it seems..bumpy. It looks and feels like normal vaginal entrance flesh but it's formed fleshy bumps, almost looks like mountain ranges haha! They're not sore, itchy or bleeding. I was worried about genital warts but they don't really look like any of the pictures I've googled and my one and only sexual partner has never displayed any wart symptoms himself. I'm just worried about if they're normal or not? Help please? I have no idea how long they've been there, I asked my boyfriend and he says they've been there as long as he can remember but who knows??

EDIT: It's not the "chicken skin" it's like the edges of my vaginal entrance are "frilly" for lack of better description. I can't really take a picture to show you, too awkward haha

Not exactly a pretty visual , but if you mean it looks like raw chicken skin type bumpy then that's normal as far as I know. :)

I have those too. I'm pretty sure it's normal (my gynecologist has never said anything). I think they're trapped oils/sebum underneath the skin. I never noticed mine either until just a couple years ago, so it kind of freaked me out when I first noticed. They never really get a "head" on them like pimples or anything and I can't squeeze them. They seem to come and go on their own.

And yeah, the "raw chicken skin" description stated above is pretty correct.

Could be hymenal fringe? (I've got that! My GP did a pap and sent me to a gyno for a second opinion. So you could check with a gyno if you wanted.)

If they're not sore, itchy, or bleeding, I wouldn't worry, even if they were warts, personally... Warts are basically harmless, with a potential for discomfort, and if there's no discomfort, then they're harmless.

Your edit-description of "frilly" sounds like it's virtually the same as the "fringe" that my doctor saw, so I'd strongly suspect it's a hymenal remnant. And if your boyfriend doesn't care, then it's probably perfectly fine. I mean, vaginal fringe isn't like old 70's shag carpet... O;>

(I once lived in a house that had the most appalling olive-green shag carpet all over the downstairs. It got replaced except in most of the bedrooms... Upstairs, it was mustard-gold shag, except in one room which was blue-painted wood panels and red-and-blue shag (faded where the window was). So. Much. Shag. *shudder* Anyway, I assure you, vaginal fringe is nothing like olive-green shag carpets.)

(...Yes. I am in a weird mood. Sorry!!!)

My poor girlfriend has to put up with me gazing at her bits and saying "Oh wow look at that, cool!" I'll prod her, and I've even been known to take pictures of the interesting bits so I can show her!

When we moved in here, it hadn't been decorated since the sixties. Some of the carpets were so luridly patterned that the floors looked like they were undulating. I couldn't go in certain rooms because my visual impairments, plus those carpets, made me just fall over and vomit!

OP - my girlfriend has fringes and frilly bits too. I think they're cute, mine seems rather plain in comparison!

I was thinking maybe bits of hymen as well from the OPs post. I have no experience with it, but that was just the first idea that popped into my head.

OP, doesn't sound like it is an urgent SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION thing, but maybe ask your gyno about it next time you're in?

Does it look like some of the photos here (http://www.the-clitoris.com/n_html/hymen.htm) (NSFW! Ahead be vulvas!) or here? (http://www.the-clitoris.com/n_html/locating_the_vagina.htm) There are a few variations in tissue-shape around the vaginal entrance on those pages, and they are all quite normal.
