Last Friday I slipped on ice on campus and fell right on my butt. It hurt pretty bad because I landed right on my tailbone and I'm still feeling some pain today. I noticed Friday evening that I was spotting a little and figured it was no big deal because I've experienced spotting before. Ever since Sunday I've been bleeding heavier than spotting, but not enough for a real period. I'm on BC and I'm not supposed to get my period until Sun Feb 13. I know it'll sound dumb, but I'm wondering if when I fell something might've happened to cause me to be bleeding so much? I'm just worried so any input would help. Thanks everyone!

I don't know about the bleeding (sounds like it could be stress -- or could you have taken a pill late enough that your uterus interpreted it as a hormonal-drop?), but you may want to get that tailbone x-rayed if it continues to hurt. If it's cracked, it could heal wrong and cause a lot more pain later in life. (I have a LJ-friend who, I believe, had to have her coccyx -- the last, free-floating vertebra in the spine -- removed because it had been cracked for years and years.)

The breakthrough bleeding should calm down, at least, after you've finished your placebo week.

Good luck! I hope your tailbone feels better soon!

From what I've read, your lining can shed from a fall or rough sex. It can be like a period. It's not super common, but can happen. If you feel dizzy/lightheaded and the flow has increased dramatically, or you are at all worried, go see a doctor. You could go to a walk-in or your regular doctor. I don't think it's an ER kind of thing.
