Pain

Hi! Wondering if anyone can help me out here so I don't worry myself to death :\ I'm a big worrier.

Last night and tonight I've felt a bit nauseous, but haven't even come close to feeling like I'm going to throw up. My lower left side (thankfully its not the right or I'd be worried about appendicitis!) has been hurting. Not severe, but enough to make me feel bad and not feel like doing anything. It's not crampy, but I don't know exactly how to describe it. It's a steady ache too. Maybe tmi, but my rectum and that area feels..full? Or like there is pressure there. Other than that, I feel alright. The pain isn't debilitating like I said, but it's a cause for concern since I worry about everything.

I've also felt this way maybe once or twice before, but it doesn't happen every month or anything. It seems to be sporadic. I do have a history of an ovarian cyst on my left ovary, but that was ~5 years ago and it went away on its own. I haven't been checked for them since then, so I don't know anything past that. I am due to start my period in about a week, if that matters.

Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks!

I do know that left sided pain can be from the colon. Are you possibly constipated or gassy? When it's happened in the past, does it usually just go away on its own, or has it felt better after you've used the bathroom?

I've felt like crap sometimes when I feel a little backed up. I'm not a doctor though, so if you're worried, you might want to make an appointment with your GP just to ease your mind.

The symptoms you describe actually sound pretty similar to me when I've had ovarian cysts: dull pain, fullness/pressure, and nausea. Functional cysts are pretty common, so even if you had one 5 years ago, it wouldn't preclude you from having another. As a fairly routine occurrence, though, most functional cysts don't require intervention/treatment and do go away on their own.

You know, I don't even know. Cyst symptoms are pretty easy for me to deal with. They never get very high on my pain scale, so I don't usually pay too much attention to them.

I've had cyst symptoms start small and last for days, other times I'm ok and then BOOM. All depends.

preggo?
