As long as I can remember, I've always had a lot of discharge and most of the time there is always an unpleasant odor to it. Sometimes it's really strong, sometimes it's not as much. But it has always been there. I know there have been times where guys have been a little put off by it. It makes me feel terrible about myself and I feel like I have no control over it.

I don't use crazy scented soap down there, I keep things fairly trimmed, I've never had vaginal intercourse with anyone yet. It's just... something I've gotten really self-conscious about. I've been to two different gynecologists and have voiced my concerns both times. And both times, they said there was nothing wrong. Recently I asked if it was a potential infection or something, and my doctor just told me that if God put a hole down there then it's expected to have a little stink to it. Or something to that effect. Which was funny. But it didn't fully answer my question. After both exams, there has been no sign of BV or Yeast infection or anything.

sorry, I have no idea, but wanted to say maybe not everyone reading this identifies as a lady, vagina or no.

When you say you don't use crazy scented soap, does that mean it's still scented? If so, I would try an unscented body wash made for sensitive skin (if you're in the US, I think that the brand Cetaphil makes a good one). Or, if you feel comfortable with it, don't use any soap at all-- just a clean loofah/sponge/hand with water. That may make a difference.

Hm I almost wonder if there is no issue at all. It's so normal to have a scent down there. I'm sorry guys were put off by it, that is super shitty of them =[ Definitely try what the commenter above suggested or maybe Vagisil makes something? But yeah, it could be totally normal, but I'm also not the best expert of the community.
(also, it would be helpful to change the last line of your post - don't worry, it happens!)

It's normal to have a scent, but not one that would be strong/unpleasant enough to put off several sexual partners. That is usually a sign of infection.

>my doctor just told me that if God put a hole down there then it's expected to have a little stink to it.

I'd be beyond pissed off if a doctor answered a valid health question like that. Seriously.

The actual answer is that there's supposed to be discharge because it helps keep your vaginal tissues clean and moist to prevent damage and infection. Vaginas are supposed to smell like vaginas, not like 'new car' or'forest fresh'. Smell is normal as long as it's not a rotten smell, or strongly fishy or yeasty.

I have this same sort of situation too, before I get "cozy" with guys I use a feminine hygiene wipe just to freshen things up a bit. As for day to day smell, I spritz a tiny bit of my perfume on the inside fly of my pants, or near the band of my panties, and let my body heat work with the perfume so all I'm smelling is whatever scent I choose to smell :)

Hope this helps you, I know how much it sucks not to be happy with your lady bits (even if they're just doing what they're supposed to do)

I would maybe think about what you're eating. You might want to try drinking a lot of pineapple juice.
