so. if you don't already know, acidophilus is a fab supplement to take if you're experiencing yeast-related itching. it helps the friendly bacteria in your intestines get back in balance. the nice and knowledgeable women at the scarlet sage herb co. in san francisco informed me yesterday that acidophilus in capsule form can also be broken open, mixed with water, and used to douche and that will help too. so i was poking around today and stumbled across this information (scroll down for an innovative list of options) on what seems to be a very cool site in general.

I had my very first yeast infection three weeks ago. Sweet Jesus, I would only wish that on my archnemisis. The Cunt Goddess herself, Ms. Inga Muscio cured me! She was speaking at my school and I showed up to the potluck dinner after coming from the ER freaking out something was horribly wrong with my cunt knowing I couldn't wait two more days for a Monday noon appointment.

Her recipe for a healthy cunt? Get boric acid from the first aid section of the store. Put it in 00 sized gel caplets. That's "double ought," and you can get them from the pharmacist. Put one in in the morning, and another at night. In the bath, use a clean finger to get all the goop out of there. Sleep with a plain yogurt soaked tampon for several days until the itching is gone. Make sure it's PLAIN yogurt.

The first night I juse used the yogurt soaked tampon cuz the pharacy was closed. I felt so much better, it was incredible.

the term "boric acid" sounds uhhh like something one would not want in one's nether region (must be the acid part). the acidopholus (?) seems to be working for me. both taking 2 capsules 3x a day and mixed with warm water as a wash. i think i have a pretty mild case. the woman at scarlet sage mentioned the tampon idea too. if i'm still itching, i'll go that route. but i think i just needed a nudge in the right bacterial direction.

I was scared of the name "boric acid" as well. But it did the trick and was cheap. I have enough boric acid to cure a mass epidemic of yeast infections for the bargin price of about $3.

How exactly do you use a warm water wash?

cheap and effective are GOOD.

well, in my real non-scientific manner, i broke open a capsule, mixed it up with warm water in my powerpuff girls juice glass, sat on the toilet and splashed around a bit. so, it was all very external, but whatever--i slept easy. i think if i feel i need a deeper fix, i will try your tampon yogurt trick. but i feel right as rain right now!

i put the acidophilus capsules directly into my cunt, but i got a mild infection anyway (i was on anti-biotocs) so i took a diflucan.

a couple of years ago though when i was suffering from incurable reaccuring yeats infectipns, i did the borac acid thing and it seemed to work. i was more mentally satisfying though to imagine the acid eating up all the bad yeast.
