I started NuvaRing on the 29th of September and I had to take it out Friday morning (October 3rd) because my vaginal walls were so swollen I could hardly even get my smallest finger inside, and it hurt more than anything I've experienced. I can't have sex without it hurting, still. It still feels swollen. I've never had anything like this happen. I read about some girl experiencing something similar- irememberaurora, if I remember correctly.
When is the pain going to stop? It feels like having sex with a really bad infection, and it hurt terribly to pee afterwards (it was stinging my gina), but I don't have an infection of any sort. I don't know what to do.
Any help would be great.
love,
kylie.

Some OTC suggestions
Date: 2003-10-04 12:41 pm (UTC)Tylenol (acetominophen), Motrin (ibupropfen), and Aspirin all relieve pain and reduce swelling and inflamation, you could take one of these to try to relieve some of the discomfort. An ice pack (brr!) might help (make sure there is cloth of some sort between you and the ice bag!) for similar reasons.
You may be having an allergic reaction to some component of the ring, in which case any antihistimine would help.
Otherwise, yeah, your GYN, or some GYN, needs to see you as soon as possible. I hope you feel better very soon, that sounds awful.
