My boyfriend and I always get sick at the same time for obvious reasons. He usually goes to the doctor and gets medicine, I don't. He is often diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on antibiotics. Now I have yet another yeast infection... and it dawned upon me that the two events coincide, and have probably done so in the past. Can his being on antibiotics transfer to me somehow? Or maybe, does a weakened immune system make one more susceptible? I take acidopholus and garlic supplements, wash (with plain water) when I am sweaty or sticky, and even use a preventative vinegar douche the week before my period. I honestly don't know why I keep getting these infections.

it's great that you're using garlic. commercial antibiotics really suck. some people are prone to getting yeast infections.

there's some good info here:

Men can get yeast infections if they use antibiotics. It happened to my husband once, he had to get cream to rub on it. Maybe your boyfriend is passing his yeast infection to you? If he has mild symptoms he might not even realise.

Next time he gets antibiotics he could ask his doctor about this.

douching in itself can cause yeast infections.
