Anyone experience insomnia before/during their period?
Any solutions??
-A very tired girl :(
(Note: I've also been having bad mood swings before/during period as well... Any tips or solutions e.g. supplements (???) would be appreciated!)

Date: 2010-07-07 11:51 pm (UTC)I don't know if it will help the sleeping or not. O:( About all I can suggest there is hormone testing to see if the PMS state is exacerbating any underlying conditions. (E.g., my own hobby-horse of thyroid issues... Sleep apnea, adrenal function, etc.)
Good luck!

I have found lots of exercise all month helps regulate your hormones as well.
You might also go in to a health food store and ask- I am sure they have something. Best of luck

Date: 2010-07-08 02:35 am (UTC)There are quite a few supplements out there that help with sleep, but the two that i've found to be the most helpful/beneficial are Melatonin (which is naturally released in your brain when you spend time in the sun) and 5HTP. Both of these are pretty easily found at most "natural health food stores." I've definitely seen Melatonin at more mainstream stores liek Rite Aid/Target too.
