so now i have another question. i think i'm over the PID scare. the past 2 periods i've had terrible PMS. the thing is it never used to affect my moods very much, but i was cranky, crying easily... coincidentally i spent both of my PMSs with my girlfriend and i was too cranky with her, she said it was ok, but i felt bad. i don't want PMS to rule my life. what can i do to prevent this? also, can a couple of cups of coffee a week affect me that much? that's really the only thing i can think of (this is my first semester at college) when during my cycle would it affect me the most? thanks:)

i've noticed that if i drink a lot of coffee right before i get my period, i get horrible cramps. so i try to cut down on caffeine when i know it's coming...i never noticed if it gave me bigger mood swings though, that's interesting.

I believe that coffee can have terrible effects on some people. I cannot go near coffee when I feel down. I go from placid to wild-scary-manic lady within two cups of coffee. It acts on my body like a swift dangerous poison. I get cramps only when I've had coffee. I sometimes get these symptoms from too much chocolate too. However, I have no problems with caffeinated teas.

Give tea a try. Or, at least try to eliminate the coffee to see if it's the culprit. If that doesn't work, get a big soft blankey. Spend some time curled up in it while watching John Hughes movies.
