Irritation post-sex reassignment surgery

Hi, there!

I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere. My partner is a post-op trans man. He had lower surgery 7 years ago, including closing up his vagina. Lately, he's felt irritation where his vaginal opening used to be. Also, his vaginal canal is still there and feels itchy.

Any ideas what this could be, or where we could look for information? We can't seem to find to find anything.

I don't have a good answer, but I've heard that there's a good bottom surgery community on yahoo groups. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it... maybe lower_surgery? If your partner isn't a member, perhaps someone on ftm could direct him to it and share an answer.
