Basically, for the past three weeks or so I've noticed a strong odor (it's not fishy, but I don't really know how to describe it - acidic, maybe?) and while there's no visible discharge, my underwear and shorts (I usually just wear underwear and boxers around my apartment) are very damp when I touch them. This is the first time I've experienced this and there are no other noticeable symptoms. Any ideas as to what's up?

Sounds like it could just be some light bladder leakage, unless the smell is REALLY off.

With the smell, I know it can take on a different smell than just straight up urine, because if you think about it, it's exposed to air and then also combining with any discharge/secretions/even sweat you might have.

As for the reasons, I know pregnancy and weight gain can cause it, and so can some medications. Some nerve problems can cause it, as can just general muscle weakness and infections. I'm sure there are specific conditions that cause it, too, but I'm not sure what else would.

An acidic smell is pretty typical of a healthy vagina. However, if it smells unusual for you, you might want to see a doctor to make sure it isn't an infection. But, to me, it sounds completely normal.

Sounds like BV to me. BV often comes with watery discharge, and isn't necessarily fishy smelling.

This was my first thought too.

Actually sounds pretty normal to me. Sometimes I get a clear wetness that smells kinda tangy. But I'm pretty sure that's healthy.

My first thought was sweat. It might just be sweat, if you're sure the dampness isn't coming from any vaginal discharge. I know personally that my sweat has a bitter sort of smell. My second thought would be BV, as [livejournal.com profile] 1girl said. Might as well go get yourself checked out if it's causing you any major distress.
