Ovarian pain

Yesterday, the right side of my lower pelvic area started to hurt. It kind of feels like cramps but it's more of a pain feeling and it's only on one side and kind of goes around to my lower back. I think it's my ovary maybe? I'm on birth control so I don't think I'm ovulating although I did take plan B a week or two ago when I ran out of my birth control so maybe it's hormone overload? I don't have any pregnancy symptoms so I don't think it's that. Should I go get it checked out or just see if it subsides?
