So it would seem that I'm on BCP for PCOS (to regulate a cycle that normally doesn't exist) and each month I've taken it (Yaz) my period has gotten later and later, Now it starts on the day when I'm supposed to start the new pack of pills... which if I recall, sets up the body to stop the bleed, and get on with the beginning of the cycle.

So: should I:
-delay the new pack by a day or two to allow the bleed to happen, and clear out the extra chances of endometriosis.
-take it on schedule and trust the medicine
-something else?

I'm using condoms as a back-up method, so, the pregnancy risk is a non issue.

Thanks muchly!

Take it as usual. PCOS whacks hormones all to fuck, so later bleeding on BC is pretty common. Always happens to me, happened to my gf too.

Confused as to the endo reference though. Endometriosis isn't caused by taking pills while you're bleeding or by suppressing bleeding, it's just something that happens. The old-school stuff about 'retrograde menstruation' is on it's way out.

Oh if only it was that easy! They now think that tiny little endometrial cells get into the bloodstream and are deposited elsewhere by bloodflow. I mean retrograde or interrupted menstruation can't explain why my lungs and intestines are full of endometrium, never mind my nose!!

But misunderstanding remains rife. I've even had a couple of doctors telling me tampons cause it. One old guy said elevating the head end of my bed would help by making the blood flow downward.... yeah. I just shut my mouth and smile weakly when they get to that point.

Anything that has to come out will do. Anything that hasn't been detached will wait it's turn and come out next time. Anything already detached will come out. When I was bleeding from day 6/7 of the placebo week, into new pack, I'd still get a 5-7 day bleed anyway. Ah lovely PCOS. *ahem* :D

Nice jazz hands! And no, I really don't think docs know as much as they like us to think they do. If I believed them I'd believe my PCOS was caused by laziness, that my neuro probs could be fixed by walking, and that endometriosis isn't "that bad" and is "part of being a woman".

I miss bleeding a tiny bit. I only really get a day of spotting now, and I'd love to try a cup or something!
