There's a yoga position that is supposed to make it feel a lot better.
If you get on your knees on the floor and sit back down on them, and then bring your torso forward, hovering over your legs, that will help quite a bit (at least it does for me).
If my explanation wasn't too clear, I'm sure if you look up the yoga positions online, you will find it.
Normally Itake Advil, but Iheard since last month's bout of horrible cramps that taking magnesium works, so I've been taking that. I'll let you know if it makes a significant difference when the time comes, which I will make a post here about it. I'm duethe first week of September.
BC PILLS!!!!!! I sersiouly used to beg my mom to take me to the ER so they would give me pain killers it hurt so bad. I wouldn't go to school for days becuase I was up all night literally screaming and crying. It hurt to much to be still but too much to move. I usually ended up crawling around the house aimlessly while bawling for hours on end and I have a pretty high threshold for pain. So, yeah BC and if you ask your gyno they'll give you a perscription for some hfty lookin Ibprofen.I started taking BC 4 years ago and haven't had a problem since.
My doctor said it was okay to take 3 or 4 ibuprofens. I don't do that often, but sometimes it's really necessary. Before I was on the pill, I got seriously intense cramps for the 1st two days of my period every month,
Other times, I use a hot pack. They seem to help a lot, even when the cramps are really bad. I have a long one that wraps around my waist, and that's nice, but I think the Thermacare ones would be good too. Ginger tea is also supposed to help with cramps, although not in a profound way - just sort of as support for whatever else you're doing. It's worth a try, I think. :)
I use tylenol and a heating pad. Gently massaging my lower abdomen with a vibrator set on low helps too. Also, drink lots of water. My cramps are always bad, but they're even worse if I don't keep hydrated.
A hot shower will work for me too when I need immediate help. But like everyone has posted, anything warm in your stomach like manzanilla tea (which I think is chamomile) I usually will take two midol "cramps" and if its really bad, I'll add an advil or two.
