NuvaRing

 Hey everyone,
        i have only found a few things about this but none of what i need. My gyno told me to use my nuvaring for 28 days then take it out for three then put a new one in. I called to confirm this with her and she said there were studies that it worked wonderful this way. however i cant find it anywhere. I was just wondering if any of you have heard this?

When I was on NuvaRing, my gyno told me 25 days in, 1 week out, and then put a new one in. She did say that you could stack it, and do 28 days in then put a new one in, but I decided not to do this as I would go through the rings faster. I ended up doing about 28 days in and 1 week out, mostly because I didn't want to have to use tampons with the ring still in. Because it's pretty much the same thing as taking a pill, there shouldn't be any negative effects of stacking the rings, as there are several pills that do exactly that!
I hope you like the ring better than I did - mine was great for a few months then it all went south! I'm loving my new paragard though!

What your doctor told you is accurate. You can use the Ring for up to 4 weeks (28 days). The length of the hormone-free week doesn't matter much, so long as it is no longer than seven days; shorter is always fine, in terms of pregnancy protection at least.

When I was on nuvaring I used it four weeks in, one week out. The length of the "out" week doesn't matter as long as it is seven days or less.

FYI, not everyone here identifies as a lady, so could you change your greeting to something gender-neutral? It will be appreciated by many. :)
