I would like to look into perhaps a more affordable means of acquiring my HBC, ortho evra, as there are no generics for it at the moment and it is the only thing I can remember so far to use properly, but it costs 25 dollars a month, it would be 60 w.o. insurance but its still adding up as I only work part time at a min. wage job (boooo!). How much would planned parenthood charge me for Ortho Evra, does anyone have any clue? Thank you lovies <3

It will depend on a variety of factors, including your income, your insurance, and the way the funding works at your local Planned Parenthood. Some locations are able to offer sliding scales or lower cost prescriptions. Some, however, can't do this because they just don't have the funds available.

Can you sign up for state insurance? All my medications are free...

Before I hopped on the Title X train, my birth control was about $30 a pack. That seemed to be pretty standard fare for most types there. If you call them I am sure they can be more specific. :)

Yeah, try Planned Parenthood.

Sounds like you're in the same boat as me. Barely making any money so it's tough to spend that much a month. I live in CA and at PP I qualified for state funding because my income is so low and I have no insurance. So they covered my Patches. I got an IUD about 6 months ago, which they also convered... thank god.
So I would try there.

They do cost on a sliding scale based on your income. So if you don't make much, you probably won't pay as much as you are now hopefully.

Best of luck!

The Planned Parenthood here changed it's name for Options for Sexual Health..not sure if that's just here or not. I'm in Canada, not sure if that changes things.

Anyways, the site says birth control is 15 a month (including the ring) and the shot is 45, I believe. Might be different where you are, but might give you a good idea of the price range to expect.
