This actually happens to me now and then. It only lasts for about a day. It's like my body figures "well, since we're cleaning house, how about we do this too!"

How long has it been going on?

Hmmm... I'd say, if you still feel yucky by tomorrow afternoon, call a doctor or a clinic and ask them. It might be nothing. I often feel a bit feverish during my period. I don't know what causes it.

I'm sorry I'm not more helpful.

Well, I just asked my partner (also female) and she says it happens to her too, so it must be pretty common.

Yeah.. I get that too, It sucks major ass. It's part of PMS.... some people get it worse than others.

However if you don't normally get it, you might have some bug or something. Mine is EVERY month, no exceptions, and alot of times PMS symtoms stay the same period to period but vary in severity for most women.

I usally get it the first day or second day, I know most of the other girls i know get it the same days. If it don't clear up in a day it's prolly more than just PMS. If you have pop a Immoduium AD, they work wonders.

I feel your pain chicky... feel better soon.

ugh

Yeah, I get that almost every month. I've found that it pretty much coincides with nausea and severe pain and cramping on the first-second day of my period. My doctor tells me it's caused by the same hormones that give you cramps, and it's pretty normal.
I start taking large (800 mg) doses of Advil a day or two before my period, and it helps a lot. Advil may clear it up, because it helps lower the hormone level that causes diarrehea and cramps. Of course, if it's food poisoning or something like that, Immodium might help.

Feel better!

i know for me, i get symptoms of ibs (irritable bowel syndrome) aka diarrhea during every period. i remember reading something somewhere that this tends to be common.

I get diarrhea (sweaty chills and all) on the first day or so of my period. It's worsened over the last few years--when I was young, it wasn't this bad, though my actual menstrual cramps were a lot worse (vomit-inducing) back then.

If you're still feeling this way tomorrow, call your doctor. Until then, drink lots of water and, if you have it, some broth. Tampons make all my cramping (menstrual, vaginal, and intestinal) worse, so I avoid them until the IBS passes.

I hope you feel better soon.

I get that every other cycle or so for the first day of my period. I think it's pretty common. But if you don't usually have diarrea with your period, maybe you just have the flu. If it doesn't go away in a day or two, I'd see a doctor.

I get *really bad* cramps along with the diarrhea problems, and my doctor says it's a combination of hormones, plus all those muscles in your pelvic region trying very hard to get rid of the blood and tissue. It just so happens that your bowel is kind of in the way. If you're really miserable (like I can be) you might try taking an Imodium the day you start your period. It helps me.
