Question!

I was wondering if anyone ever experienced tenderness or a sore feeling to their nipples. Not my entire breast, just the nipple part when I touch it every once in a while. I'm freaking out thinking I might be pregnant, but I'm due for my period in about a week and I'm hoping it's just early period symptoms.

Has anyone ever experienced this? And before their period? I'm super nervous :(

i've experienced this at several different times during my cycle, definitely during PMS. PMS hormones can make a lot of uncomfortable/weird things happen in your body. i wouldn't start to worry unless you miss your period and the tenderness stays.

Thanks! I've been pregnant once, so anything remotely different or new to my cycle makes me panic! I always try to remind myself how truly horrible my symptoms were then and how my PMS symptoms never come close! But I'm still freaking.

Can PMS happen like 8 days before your expected period though?

i think so, yes. iirc my hormonal symptoms start a few days after i ovulate and then taper off a day or two before i start my period.

and pregnancy scares are never fun (unless it's not a scare and you're ttc, obviously). i can definitely understand the freaking out! been there, done that :)

Yep, I get it with PMS. Didn't use to, though. I've also gotten it randomly during my cycle, sometimes around ovulation ... etc. My PMS usually starts 7-8 days before my period is due. I'm pregnant now, and I actually DIDN'T have nipple soreness until I had already missed my period this time (whereas I usually do a week beforehand).

I never had any nipple tenderness before I actually got pregnant last year - after my miscarriage it had become a normal part of my PMS, occurring probably half the months before I actually got pregnant again. However, my husband and I were actually trying, so I can understand if it's freaking you out.

Don't panic, especially if your period isn't due yet. It's just unnecessary stress until your period is ACTUALLY late. Take a deeeep breath (and a nice bath, because that never hurts).

Well I have that 24/7. It's impossible for other people to touch my nipples and I don't know if I can ever have children because of it. I've been wondering why I am so unlucky.

Me too. My nipples want to be left ALONE. At all times. But I expect pregnancy will toughen them up a bit when that time comes. Or so I hope.

Yes and yes. I have it all the time right now because I'm recently back on HBC, and gaining weight from it, and my breasts and most especially nipples are tender/sore all the time.

My nipples and breasts are always sore and tender a few days before my period starts. That and the backache about a week before are my most reliable indicators, because my body insists 28 days is just an average! (Except my current average is 23 days...)

yes, my nipples usually get a little tender for about a week before my period, and sometimes i've had it happen from things completely unrelated to hormones at all. for example, have you switched laundry soaps? once when i switched and i wasn't wearing a bra, i guess the combination of the fabric of my shirt moving around over my breasts all day and the new detergent made my nipples REALLY sore.

My nipples are so sensitive all the time, I can't handle them being touched. Not even gently. Kinda sucks.

I never used to have this happen. I did experience it before both of my pregnancies. Then, about 3 years after my last child, I had this happen. I was scared to death because I just knew I was pregnant (and I have life-threatening reasons that make me not want to ever be again). But it turned out it was just PMS. And it has been that way nearly every month ever since. I have no idea what changed or why but, yeah, it can definitely be a PMS symptom, even if you've never had that symptom before.

After a year on OTC Lo, that happened to me. Now I've been on Seasonale for like 4 years with no issues.
