So a couple of nights ago while watching porn, I decided to conduct a little "experiment". I think I remember reading somewhere about a study that was conducted recently regarding if humans can pick up on the smells of arousal the way animals can. I decided to attempt to stay in a complete state of arousal the following day to see if anyone picked up my "scent"........ and the results were surprising!
During class, I had 3 different guys (which I hardly ever talk to) come up to me. One asked for my number, the other told me he loved me, and the third commented on how cute my toes were.
While at work, a guy that used to be a FWB (but we ended things like a year ago) told me for some reason he couldn't stop staring at my hiney. I told him about the experiment I was trying, and he admitted that he hadn't had any type of sexual feelings toward me for quite a while until that day. He said it must work!
So, do you guys think this is all just a coincidence or can humans really pick up the scent of arousal?

EWWW! (ah I'm so not a person who likes feet, I believe thats why I love shoe's so much)
BUT YOUR TOES? he could of said anything!!
But it does work!!
Sometimes before I go into work at night (my partner and I both work at this restaurant huzzah for him being a chef!) I'll be like ohh I haven't seen him all day, and I have a huge libido too so I'll get all excited and as soon as he sees me its just fun cause we end up having to work 5+ hours untill we can go home. And on days like that I get about $200 worth of tips from men and women in the restaurant and motel! (its a restaurant in a high class motel here!haha)

Date: 2009-04-10 08:33 am (UTC)as much as i'm not a foot person, i'm still more concerned about the person who declared their love. who does that to someone they've never spoken to before!? I'd be completely speechless (in a bad way) but if someone complemented my toes (will never happen, i wander in and out of a cafe/restaurant and ride my bike a lot, so always need to be wearing closed in shoes) I'd probably say, "er, thanks", think that it was a bit unusual. But kind of sweet too.

Date: 2009-04-10 03:42 am (UTC)I'm not sure if it applies to vaginal secretions though (but I assume it does), as we were doing the "white T-shirt" experiment, which has to do with a person's natural B.O.

Date: 2009-04-10 01:58 pm (UTC)I should mention that it may have been my teacher who has repeatedly found this (they do the experiment every year for the past 3-4 years for the Animal Behaviors class, and it often gets spilled over into the Human Sexuality class), as reviewing the original study shows that they didn't find a difference between pill users and nonusers.
