Hey all! I've got a bump "thing" in my pubic hair, on the pubic mound, and it appears to be either A) a "blind" pimple that does not want to come to a head or B) a deep ingrown hair, which I'm prone to getting. My skin is very acne-prone and bump-prone everywhere, alas. The little bugger appeared on Monday; I'd both shaved the area and had a good amount of sex the day before, so okay, some irritation is to be expected.

Problem is, none of my at-home remedies are working on this sucker. Soaking in a bath and applying warm compresses brought out a bit of pus, but it's obviously not bringing out the whole mess. Trying to pop it (bad, I know!) has only served to make it tender and angry. My skin has recently become very sensitive to tea tree oil so I'm holding off on applying that to try and shrink it.

Does anyone have any other ideas for home remedies that might encourage this thing to run its course? Just keep hot-compressing it till it pops? It feels like there is a core (or whatever it might be) about the size of a pea under there, much like what happens when I get a blind pimple on my face.

I'm just no good at patiently letting things heal up! Sigh. Thanks in advance for any ideas!!!

I read some place that hemorrhoid cream will reduce the swelling... and it was used on the face too, to reduce swelling and redness of pimples.
I'm no expert but it may help

You are welcome, I hope it helps you.

Hope your better soon.

Yeah, I'd sterilize a needle (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Sterilization) as best I can and lance it myself, too. It's the only way I've been able to get any relief, and I am also not the type to wait it out. Plus, dang, it's uncomfortable!

You know your body best, OP, so you know if that kind of thing is going to leave you prone to infection. Use your best judgment!

i do this, sometimes it's just necessary. my ingrown hairs will not calm down unless the hair is plucked.

Since its on the mound I'd suggest slathering it in a mixture of neosporin (kills bacteria) and Benedryl cream (reduces the swelling and pain as a by product).

I've been getting blind pimples frequently lately, its so frusterating.

try some lavender oil. much gentler on the skin.
i also find white vinegar, applied with a a q-tip is excellent for almost instantly diminishing all sorts of zits or bumps.

Vinegar, I've used on broken skin, but it is slightly burny.
No worse then rubbing alcohol, though.

Gah I have this too. Its been there for months. I've managed to pop it and it came back a week or two later. And it felt like a small pea was under it last month and I stuck a needle in it and clear liquid pussed out. but now its back to being like a pimple.
I'm not very patient eitherrr.
Sorry I'm not help lol I just felt like I could relate.

Okay, I would keep putting a hot wash cloth or what not on it same with neosporin or Benedryl.. I thought I had an ingrown hair like a week or so ago, turns out it was a boil.. (I would check on WebMD if thats what it is)

good luck, I hoep it goes away for you

some suggested hemorrhoid cream. i apply that for acne cysts on my face and it works fairly well. i actually just applied some to a bunch of ingrown hairs on my mound as well.

Topical, diluted Tea tree oil?

I would keep on with the hot compresses too.

I second tea tree oil. I use it religiously on any bump, bite, nick, scratch, pimple, etc. It's wonderful. Honestly, I don't dilute it at all to get the full effect. It can cause a bit of tingling at first, but to me it's soothing.

My doctor once told me to put toothpaste on pimples. It draws them out and dries them. Since you've already picked it will sting. We were discussing my face, but as long as its on your mound and not more delicate tissues, it seems the same to me. Or maybe a mud mask? Or a blackhead extractor? That's a little tool with a hole in the end they sell next to the nail files and things like that.
