Yeast Infection, Periods, Tampons?

Alright. I'm on Yaz and I'm just seeing the first traces of my period right on time. The thing is, I'm at the tail end of a YI. (Yuck and FML for getting them so often). Anyway, my question to you VPers is: Can I/Should I use tampons during my period or will this worsen my YI? Is it the same case for pads? (I'd like to avoid pads if I can, I don't like the diaper feeling.)

If it matters, I'm using acidophilus and garlic vaginal suppositories for my YI. Now, only acidophilus though, as I figure the garlic will kill off the good bacteria as well as the bad. I didn't use them at the same time.

In sum:

Tampons and YI yay or nay?
Pads and YI yay or nay?

I just can't imagine using them as I'm sure they'd gather sweat and yuckies and make my situation worse. I'm actually hoping my priod wipes out the infection altogether.

Don't use tampons. It will make a yeast infection worse. Cotton sitting gathering blood up inside a warm, moist area. :/
