I have the worst dry, cracked, super-itchy skin on my nipples! I'm not pregnant, but I am on my period right now, so this might be affected by hormone fluctuation. However, I have noticed my nipples being super dry at various points in my cycle. The thing is...I think my nipples are very dry from a certain, um, activity, or activities engaged in by me and my boyfriend. I think I have made a mistake in not drying saliva and other liquids off them immediately afterward. However, is there anything I an do to help them now, or prevent them in the future?

lotion! a really good sensitive-skin type lotion should do the trick: i like cocoa and shea butter myself, for my terribly dry skin.

It happens to me pretty often (my boyfriend is a bitey sort and I like it a lot). I usually just throw a little lotion or vitamin E on them after the shower.

I've never used it personally, but they also make nipple-salve for women who are breastfeeding that's supposed to be awesome (and safe if someone -- SO or wee babe, is latched onto your boob on a regular basis).
