hello!
so i posted about this about two months ago but now i'm just confused.
i recently switched to a pop because the nuvaring was giving me terrible anxiety and i wasn't comfortable with the blood clot risk (there's a history of poor circulation in my family and i'm regularly on 8 hour flights).
i posted on here asking whether it's the estrogen or the progestin in bc that causes this possible side effect and was told that it's the estrogen and that a progestin-only pill was a good option if i was worried about blood clots.
well last night i was watching tv instead of doing homework and lo and behold...a nuvaring commercial comes on and states that "the progestin in this may increase the chance of blood clots". so now i'm worried. are there different types of progestin that have different side effects? any insight would be fantastic. thanks!!!

Date: 2009-03-18 04:33 pm (UTC)i spent an entire semester studying the cardiovacular system and how things affect it, including hormones, but for some reason, i can't think of what to tell you right now. sorry!
also, if you decide to research this on your own, make sure whatever websites you use are trustworthy. i found a lot of bad/misleading information out there.
