did you talk to your doctor about your worries with blood clots and how you thought that maybe a POP would be the best way to go? it is possible that both estrogen and progestin cause clots, but maybe estrogen is more likely to than progestin. i don't know this for a fact, just speculating. :)
i spent an entire semester studying the cardiovacular system and how things affect it, including hormones, but for some reason, i can't think of what to tell you right now. sorry!
also, if you decide to research this on your own, make sure whatever websites you use are trustworthy. i found a lot of bad/misleading information out there.
