surgery and skipping period

I am having surgery on April 2nd, nothing vagina related. I am currently on triquilar28 which are triphagic pills. I have only ever stacked monophagic pills. I am wanting to someone skip my next period as it will fall the week after my surgery while I am lying in bed in pain. I will most likely have to use condoms if I do in fact have sex in the couple weeks post-surgery because of antibiotics. I start a new pack of pills monday, can I stack them by colours? For example they are red, followed by white, followed by yellow, then the placebos. So if I take reds from two packs, then white from two packs, then yellow from two packs would this be safe and allow me to skip a period?

I believe in the Vulvapedia is says you can stack triphagic pills by taking one in the correct order (red, white, yellow) then the second pack in the reverse order (yellow, white, red).

You can also take them in the manner the OP described. Either way works. Basically, all you really need to do is make sure that you don't have a sharp drop in hormones because that would trigger a breakthrough bleed.

Thanks! Now I won't have to worry about the logistics of getting my cup in there when I can't really move much. I can deal with minor breakthrough bleeding.
