i hope this question is okay for here...

has anyone heard of/used the pill Seasonale?
i've been hearing a lot about it lately, and i'm wondering how effective it really is... (you get your period every three months, kinda like you would if you were skipping placebo pills).

i'm on alesse right now and still get bad menstrual pains sometimes (but higher dose pills make me go crazy), so i'm kinda thinking that having a period four times a year doesn't sound so bad...
on the flip side, though, i'm sexually active and i think i'd worry too much if my period didn't come.
so, i guess i'm asking in addition to my above question... for those of you who skip your periods with BCP, do you worry at all that you could be pregnant/that there could be problems you're not aware of? how do you get past the worry?
my period is partly a reassurance that i'm not carrying a wee one (this would be a big problem because of other meds i'm on), even though i take my pills religiously.

also, does anyone know if it's even available in canada yet??

I was always paranoid when I was on the pill.

I just ended up buying pregnancy tests in bulk. :(

I've heard of Seasonale, but never bothered to use it, since OTC works just fine for skipping.

I knew that if I took my pills correctly, there was almost no chance of getting pregnant. So I just didn't worry about it at all. Heck, until I joined this community, I didn't know us ladies even DID worry about getting pregnant while on the pill. I thought that was what kept the worry away.

I don't think Seasonale is available anywhere yet, it's still in clinical trials. If you're taking the pill correctly, odds of pregnancy are vanishingly small. If you're paranoid, then no, skipping periods isn't for you. If you trust your body and yourself, though, then I don't see why not.

yeah... i think what i need to switch to is loestrin 1/20. i think the progestin level is too low for me on alesse. so far my period is mia but if i get it in the middle im not too upset. i just dont want to have it aug 29-31.
hopefully it will work.
