I just started taking the mini pill for the second time since combination pills make my blood pressure go up no matter how low the estrogen is. Last time I took this I took it around the same time everyday, it was always within a 30 minute time period and I was constantly spotting.I think I only got one, maybe 2 real periods the 6 months I was on it. This time around I have been taking my pills within 5 minutes of the same time everyday and I was wondering if this would make my period stop completely. Has anyone here taking this and had it stop their period or was it wacky the whole time? I always hear mixed things about this and am curious about other people's experiences.

The hormone in progestin-only pills doesn't really prevent irregular bleeding the way the hormones in combination pills do. For that reason, irregular spotting or bleeding is a very common experience on POPs, and if you're prone to it, it will probably happen whether you're 5 minutes to the same time or 20 or 30.

I started the mini pill four months ago and haven't had a period since... woohoo! My doctor seemed to know her stuff pretty well, she said there's a 40% chance your periods will stop. So 40/100 women on it won't get periods. I also have terrible skin though, so swings and roundabouts!

I'm on Cerazette, so I don't have to worry so much about getting exactly the same time every day.
