if some of these have already been addressed feel free to delete. i looked in the memories and found some useful info but i don't think any direct answers?

i recently switched from yaz to ortho tri cyclen lo because i would get super depressed/feel fat around my period. pmdd/pms symptoms were coming back, which is why i took yaz in the first place. so my obgyn recommended i try something new.

but i'm noticing a decline in my libido, which is absolutely no fun. i'm also noticing that i'm super anxious/paranoid. about nothing. about little things. most of the changes so far have been subtle, but big enough that i care that i don't feel normal.

i've been on the new pill for 8 days but really want to switch back to yaz.

my mother suggested i just stop taking ortho completely, wait to get my next period, and then start back on yaz.

this seems reasonable enough, except this last weekend i had sex with my boyfriend without backup contraception. i don't think he came inside me, but i guess i'm not totally sure.

also sperm can last a few days inside, so i'm concerned that if i stopped taking the pill tomorrow then i could really increase my chances of getting pregnant? or is this unlikely, and should i be okay to stop tomorrow?

also i have heard stories of women who switch pills, use the other pill for a while, then return to their old pill, but the old pill has new side effects because her body chemistry has been altered. so i'm worried (maybe this is the new pill talking, i don't know) that if i switch back to yaz that yaz won't be like yaz used to be for me but end up causing new problems? i mean, i guess i won't know until i try, but is that likely?

and on a somewhat unrelated note, my vagina smelled weird after sex for a long time. that's normal right? i think maybe i just never noticed before?

thaaanks.

Sperm can survive up to five days inside the body (some experts even say seven), so just to be on the safe side, I would wait until at least seven days after the last time you had sex without a back-up before stopping the pill, and use back-up contraception if you have sex before then. :)
