this might not be the right place, but i think it could be applicable...

is there any way that hormone levels can affect bloodsugar?

because recently, i've been having what feel like blood sugar attacks(weak, shaky, dizzy, almost blacking out, spacey feeling, slight headache sometimes...)

and i had three during the week of my period.

so i was wondering if i should chalk it up to hormones, or if i should make a doctor appointment to get that checked out..

There are actually lots of things that can cause those symptoms. Some of them are more serious than others. Obviously, if you know it's because you haven't eaten anything all day or something to that effect, then you know the likely cause and there's no reason to be too worried unless it persists. If you can't pinpoint it, though, a doctor's visit might not be the worst thing you ever did...

::nods:: That's what I'm saying. If it were only happening when you haven't eaten, then it wouldn't be quite so worrisome. Since it's happening other times, though, you might pay the doctor a visit...

Right. I have insulin problems (kind of the opposite of diabetes) and know that when you eat things that are high in sugar or starch your blood sugar will soar and then crash. When you have these "attacks" make sure you eat some protein or veggies after your juice (or whatever you use to raise your blood sugar). It is also a good idea to throw in some protein everytime you eat. Natural peanut butter (other kinds have too much sugar) and cheese are good if you don't like to eat meat or soy.

You might want to keep a couple of pieces of hard candy with you at all times to prevent you from passing out or having to run to a pharmacy for juice.

But PLEASE go see a doctor! It may be nothing but you want to make sure!

Definitely go to the doctor. I am known to get bouts of shakiness, faintness (especially during my period.) I learned that it is because I am often low on potassium (eat a banana) or iron. I have never though had the feeling last for three hours, so I would go to a doctor. I wouldn't worry too much, but you want to make sure. :)
