Hey gals! It's been a LONG time since I posted. Guess everything has been going "good" down there for a while. . .
Anyway, I am experiencing what is pretty heavy breakthrough bleeding. (As in, borderline, a real period) I just applied my third week patch yesterday. I have NEVER had breakthrough bleeding, and I have been using Ortho Evra for two+ years.
Here's are some details: I have been under a fair amount of stress over the last week. I have lost approximately 7 lbs in the last three weeks. I have heard that stress can bring on break through bleeding, but since I have never experienced it (until possibly now) I don't know how valid that is.
maybe I am just looking for reassurance. I went through the entries and the sidebar links under several different topics, but couldn't find a post similar to mine. I am sure that there is, SOMEWHERE though.
Thanks for any info you can give me!

Date: 2008-10-16 07:17 pm (UTC)im a pretty busy lady and really dont have time to worry about random bleeding, so i inquired about an IUD. she referred me to a gyno, and 3 weeks later i had a mirena inserted. and i loooove it. way better than the patch. i dont have a period at all anymore, which is amazing.

Date: 2008-10-16 07:29 pm (UTC)well, if breakthrough bleeding is your only complaint with the patch, and nothing else has/will work(ed) for you, i would stay with it and hope it was just a one time thing. my doc said it could keep happening, or it may not. i personally didnt want to take the chance, and i had had my eye on and iud for a while anyways. its not compromising your protection though (i dont think) so i would wait it out and see what happens.
