I wasn't sure where to ask this so I thought I would try you ladies.

I had an epidural in 2007 and have noticed since then, although not constant at all, a tight pulling pain that extends from my waist line down my left leg. I notice it a lot when I stand for long periods and when I'm on my period. I was just wondering if this could be related to the epidural I had? anyone else get this after having one?

IMO, it's doubtful it's from the epidural itself. Probably pregnancy/childbirth related (I'm assuming from the cute baby icon you had the epidural for that). I know several women with sciatic nerve issues who never had epidurals to begin with. Our bodies are just never the same after babies :)

I would get it checked out before your statute of limitations time runs out.

Just because she's in pain doesn't mean the doctor was negligent.

not sure if this is helpful at all, but i remember when i had my epidural that a nerve in my leg got bumped or whatever during the procedure.. the pain never lasted but it was SUCH an odd feeling, as though the needle went down through my thigh too! the pain of that didnt last.

however, up until about a year or so after giving birth, i would have pain at the site if i stood for too long or did too much lifting. everything is fine now, but it was kinda worrisome at the time.

My sister had a spinal block that was done...funny?...and it did resulted in some leg and uterus pain. Although, she also had a bound nerve from the c-section (also done funny...all together not the best delivery ever, but baby is happy and healthy) and the two issues together compounded to make her have to walk with a cane.

She got the issue from the spinal block fixed by a chiropractor. It just took one simple adjustment to fix it, and a follow up to be sure it was maintaining the adjustment.

So, from this anecdotal case it's possible it did cause an issue.

I like the chiropractor... I know I'm not supposed to because it's so controversial but it & acupuncture seems to have significantly reduced or gotten some sciattic-type pain under control for me too.

Physical Therapy is helping too.

i would likely say sciatica, but it's not related to the epidural. Happens to a lot of women after pregnancy.

That sounds like how I cramp during a really bad period, oddly. The cramps always go from my waist down to my legs. =/
