I have a few questions..I hope you guys can clear these up for me!
I've never had a cold sore in my life. I've never come into contact (kissed, drank after, etc) with someone who had cold sores. Is it possible for one to just...show up? A few weeks ago, part of my upper lip was tingling and it was red. I read that those are symptoms of an oncoming cold sore? Anyway, nothing ever..turned up. No blisters, no crusting, nothing. It just went away. Today, it came back. Same place, same symptoms. It's tingling, it's very red, part of my lip is swollen, and it's hot to the touch. But, there's no blister or anything. I haven't eaten or drank anything differently, so it's not some kind of allergy. Can it be a cold sore? Any way at all?
Also--if it is a cold sore, I want to make sure I'm safe. Are you able to pass the virus through oral sex? I'm very confused on the subject--I know they are two different types of herpes, but can one turn into the other? If I had a cold sore and gave my boyfriend oral, could he possibly get it? I've read mixed things and am not sure what is correct.
Thank you :)
