So I am new to this community and I need help!!!... it could get lengthy so the rest is behind cut
I've never really known a lot about the process of periods and all that fun stuff, I just know that it comes once a month, usually, and i'm never glad to see it, but relieved that its there if you will. Anyhow as I was reading on VP a while back that the stringy mostly clear discharge before your period meant that you are ovulating. I found that interesting, but my Q is this. I have this funky discharge ALL the time. Well not ALL the time, but more then a lot of the time. It isn't a YI as far as I can tell, although reading some of the comments on here have me a little worried since sometimes YI don't have a smell or the itchiness... Anyway, I guess I am just wondering if I am normal or a freak? I had my period last week, had sex on Tue of this week and noticed earlier this morning that I had a slimy mostly clear discharge. (for a lack of better word), its enough that my panties aren't saturated, but they are moist? Oh and I do have a "hood" piercing if that is important. I am supposed to be having a visitor on monday and I would like to be "fresh" . Can some one please point me in the right direction?Type your cut contents here.

Date: 2008-09-21 10:18 am (UTC)If the discharge smells bad, turns yellow or green, is associated with burning itching or lesions, then there is cause for concern. For now though sounds like your vagina doing what most vaginas do, maintaining moisture and self cleaning...

Date: 2008-09-21 10:31 am (UTC)That having been said your diet can change the smell/taste of vaginal fluid, I hear that pineapple can have a pretty strong effect in sufficient quantity, (I don't know about that from personal experience as I'm allergic to pineapple but it is an example I hear used often).

Date: 2008-09-21 01:28 pm (UTC)Mine tends to be milky in color with a pleasant smell and taste. If it's "saturating" your panties it's probably because you're horny. At least, that's what happens when I'm horny.
If you're concerned about being fresh, just shower before your "visitor" comes over. You can't really get rid of the discharge... Or before your visitor gets there, wipe your girly bits down with a damp cloth or a feminine wipe.
