Divas (and vagpagers, as this is going to be cross posted)

How long did it take for your periods to go back to normal after getting your paragard inserted?  This is my third period with Paragard, and my periods are back to what I consider "normal".  By "normal" I do mean back to pre-paragard flow and NO CRAMPING, AT ALL.  SWEET.

My other two periods were much heavier than this one, and also pretty crampy.  While i"m not done with this period, I feel like it's probably going to last my average 5 days instead of the 8 or 9 of the last two.  I've had no cramps this entire time.  I'm pretty jazzed!

I just wanted to know for comparison's sake - I feel pretty darn fortunate to not have cramps, or spotting.  I also celebrated my  2nd month with paragard on the 17th.  We're getting along pretty well.  I haven't named her just yet.

Have a great day! :)

You know, I don't think my periods ever really increased in flow or length while I had my ParaGards.

After insertion, I bled nonstop for something like 6 weeks (less heavily than a period, but enough to fill a menstrual cup every 12 hours, so more than spotting) and cramped during that time, which was not so much fun.

After that, my bleeding went MIA for 50 or 60 days, which, by that time, was a welcome change.

After that, things were pretty much back to normal.

Straight from the website...

ParaGard® does not protect against HIV or STDs. You may have heavier or longer periods or spotting between periods, which usually subsides after 2-3 months. ...

Hope that helps!!!
