So, PPH is being completely unreliable and the place I got tested at last time doesn't accept my insurance, so I'm looking for other alternatives. Someplace on the west side below 100th street? Oops. I'm located in Manhattan too! (New York, NY) Has anyone had any really good experiences with a particular clinic and would recommend it? I also have Oxford Health Insurance, so that's helpful too if they take that! Thanks!

What city are you in?

Hm, so I don't have great suggestions (I just moved from NYC, but I used the NYU Student Health Center there). Have you checked out the memories in newyorkers? This question gets asked there pretty often.

I think that you can get tested at Callan Lorde for cheap if you're LGBT.

Ah, too bad. Then I would definitely check out newyorkers--I did have Oxford when I lived in NYC, and used a gyno who was great, but he was on the east side.

Laurence Orbuch--I don't have his # on hand because I moved out of NYC about 6 months ago, but he's on the Oxford website in the provider directory. He's on East 79th.

His wife, Iris Orbuch, is also a gyno with an office down on Spring Street, but I never used her.

He's definitely a bit more formal than doctors I've had in the past, but I think it's a distancing mechanism to make sure that his patients feel comfortable--the consult and discussion of why you're there takes place in his office, so the actual legs-in-the-air, wearing-the-uncomfortable-gown part is minimized. He also does some of his labwork onsite (like for YIs and UTIs), so you get results ultrafast.

try ryan nena fro testing
http://www.ryancenter.org/

if you're looking for a gyno... try
dr brill- http://www.advancedobgyn.net/
she's professional, friendly and young... which are pretty much my requirements for a gyno...
she's on the UES though...

also, i did go get HIV tested at the hispanic federation
http://www.hispanicfederation.org/
you don't have to be latina/hispanic in order to get tested there... when i went, the guy also gave me a sheet of places to get the full shebang of testing...
