Really, just a plea for reassurance.

I bought a toy while on vacation. It's wrapped up and buried in clothes in my bag.
I know we've all heard the horror stories about them going off with all the agitation checked luggage faces.
Someone please tell me this doesn't actually happen? I mean, people travel with vibrators all the time and they don't go off, right? No security issues at all?

Any horror stories? Any success stories?

Edit: Made it home without incident. Thanks folks!

Take the batteries out. Then you won't have to worry at all. :)

won't they just snip those off anyway when you get to the airport and put them through security? Why not undo them, take the batteries out and re-zip tie if you must? Sounds like a plan to me. Good luck!

If they search your bag, I think yeah, they'll just cut it.

I peddled a vibrator to an elder fellow once. The rule at the store was that we *HAD* to verify that the vibrators worked prior to letting them leave the store due to an obvious no return policy. Long story short, make sure to remove the batteries before packing your toy.

As for the old man, he walked out of the store with the vibrator vibrating and pointing forward....as if protecting himself with a sword. ;p

I thought as much, but had to be sure there wasn't some other play on words happening. XD I greatly dislike him myself.

Yeeeah, I really don't know what way to vote here. Supposedly Dion's carbon tax is nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be, if you take time to read it.

My main strategy too, honestly. Was seriously considering voting green.

My mom has had a toy removed from her bag, opened up and effectively broken by customs people coming back to the states through Miami. She wasn't embarrassed so much as she was angry.

I'd be pretty angry, too, those things are expensive.

My ex worked for customs, and they had rather frequent "bomb alerts" that turned out to be vibrating sex toys. The customs agents might chuckle a bit about it, but there was no issue with them aside from that.

PS: your icon is hilarious

on mine and my guys last vacation we brought with us several toys of all different kinds. while on vacation, we purchased several more.

i took the batteries out. but i didnt even bury them in clothes. i wrapped them in one bolt of cloth and that was that.

its never been an issue for me.
