Okay, so is there a natural way to lighten my flow because it is really heavy and disgusting. Like, if I go to the bathroom and go to wipe, i have to wait forever just so i can stand up and be comfortable. Or, do I just have to live with it?

Thank you guys!

I've heard that ibuprofen can lighten periods. (Don't overdose on it, though! Follow the over-the-counter instructions! Consider the exclamation points aimed only at those who might think of taking way too much! O:> )

You will probably also get people suggesting menstrual cups, which catch the blood so you can then dump it out, without (presumably) quite so much of the "long goopy stringy thing dangling into the toilet."

(Me, I just prod at those with bits of toilet paper till the TP drags them down. >_> But I may not have as heavy a flow as you're talking about.)

I still get long goopy strings hanging into the toilet with my cup, unfortunately (for the OP. I don't really care one way or another). Its just even super longer, because there's the glob that was IN the cup, and the part that is still attached to me! But yeah, I usually just attack them with TP and go on my merry way.

Ahh that's my least favorite thing about my cup, I always get my hands so nasty because I have to juggle the cup and the toilet paper and try to not have those goopy strings fly around all over the place. I was just telling this to my boyfriend, but he seemed a little disinterested/unsympathetic, so I'm glad that this was brought up, haha.

I hate saying this because I'm not really for them at all, but BC can lighten heavy periods.

My period got substantially lighter when I stopped taking a "women's" multivitamin that my mom thought would help with anemia. At least check out what's in any daily vitamins you take, because there might be something that's making your uterus build up more lining, from being healthier than you want it to be. G'luck!
