Hello---
I was on Depo for 2 years, then in June I went on the Pill. (Ortho-Cept)
I started the pill when my shot was due and I did get a period during the first month on the pill.
My period is VERY heavy now. Before I went on Depo my period would start out really light...get heavy....get light again.
Now it starts out heavy.....stays heavy for 3 days and then it just stops.
I've had 3 periods since I started the pill and during the last one I tried taking IBproufen because I read it could reduce bleeding but it didn't work. Also talked to my DR. and she said give it a few months and it will lighten up. It is because I haven't had a period for 2 years....
So....later this month I'm going on vacation and I don't want my period. So I was planning on skipping the placebo week and starting the next pack. And next month I'll be traveling again and I would rather not have my period again. There is so much blood....I know there will be leakage.
My question.....will it be a terrible idea to skip my period 2 months in a row????? I'm not worried about a little breakthrough bleeding...I can handle that.....I'm just worried about 3 months from now...... do you think skipping my period these 2 months will make my period in November out of control heavy?????
I don't think the heaviness could get any worst..... but you never know.
Or maybe it will cause it to lighten up?

TIA!!

Just a warning on going that long!

I typically do two, three-week cycles on my active piills, then a week off for my period. Due to a flurry of vacations and other responsibilities, I decided I would try to go for three, three-week cycles. At the beginning of my 8th week on my active pills, I started bleeding and would not stop. I went to the placebo pills after three days and had a full, rather heavy period.

Though everyone's body works in different ways, you may want to consider the possibility of this happening, especially if your periods have been quite heavy since you came off of Depo!
