Hi ladies!
I have a terrible head cold. The kind that makes my nose run and my head hurt, and my sinuses full, and coughing and sneezing and all that lovely jazz (my boyfriend gave it to me. at least we are miserable together).
BUT this cold effected the way I poo, i guess everything is out of whack, so I thought that it might be connected to my cooch issues too!
In the last couple days, i've had to go pee ALOT but never really had much pee in me. And when I do pee it smells...not bad but different then usual, more sour and strong. I also get an AMAZING 5 second, maybe more, pressure-pain right after I go pee, when I'm still sitting. Sometimes when i'm not peeing i get a stinging kinda feeling, or just pressure pain.
I don't have any discharge, or blood in my pee, or anything like that. And the last time I had sex was on Saturday. I was having ALOT of sex before that (just moved across the country, leaving the boy friend behind).
Could this be a delayed reaction UTI? or related to my head cold? or just my cooch acting up? Should I be hi-taling it to the doctor to get anti-biotics before i'm in agony, or should i wait it out a bit to see what happens?

Date: 2008-09-05 01:40 pm (UTC)I get that whenever I start having sex/have a lot of sex after a dry spell. It freaked me out the first time but numerous STD tests came back negative, so I finally spoke to my GP about it. Apparently, it's something to do with the pH in your vag. So if you've introduced something new to it, or something new to your body (i.e. your cold), this could well be doing it. I wouldn't worry too much, it's just a pain in the arse. Or vag, heh. If it is still happening in 5 days, then I would think about mentioning it to your GP.

Date: 2008-09-06 04:30 am (UTC)Your symptoms definitely sound consistent with a UTI, and for that reason alone, I'd advise moving "see a health care provider" to the top of your "to do" list. Since your immune system was already dealing with the Evil Cold Germs of Doom, it's quite possible the urinary tract bacteria slipped in unnoticed, so to speak. I'd say it's not impossible for it to be something besides a UTI related to your head cold (I know that whenever my mucus production goes into overload, I get dehydrated more easily, and that's doubly true if I'm taking any kind of medication for it), but since UTI is on the list of likely suspects, it really does warrant a check-out from a health care professional.
PS -- Since not every person (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=VaginaPagina_FAQ#Is_VP_for_women_only.3F) who has a vagina or has dealt with a UTI identifies as a lady, using a non-gendered greeting might be more reflective of who's actually in VP. :)
