I took a photo to see if I could get a look at what was really going on with the bumps I felt with my finger. It looks like there are in fact several of them and they look frightening to me. I have no idea what this could be. Could yeast infection cause something that looks like this? Could it be an STD? Why didn't the doctor think this was out of the ordinary??? I really am feeling scared now, if anyone can identify what this is I'd really appreciate it. I might just go back to urgent care tomorrow, this just doesn't look ok.

Don't mind the stupid bits of toilet paper I didn't know were stuck to me lol. So I pulled it open a bit and you can see just inside a group of...something??? I can see why I bled now, one of these must have popped...ugh...eww. :(

One more note...the burning started immediately during sex with someone using a condom and so I initially thought I was having an allergic reaction to the condom. Could it possibly still be that over a week later? I just don't know...

the photo won't show because it's set to friends only so you need to change the setting or upload it somewhere else.

I don't have any concrete advice except wait until having vaginal sex stuffs until this is healed and go to the doctor to see what this is all about. (You might want to go to a different doctor if you feel like the one you went to wasn't thorough enough.)

It might be worth to go see the doctor just so that you at least know what it might be, but I can also understand wanting to hold off to see if it'll just heal on its own.

Honestly, it doesn't look like herpes to me either, if it makes you feel any better. Obviously I'm not a doctor, but there ya go.

Maybe i'm not seeing what you are feeling, and while your vag does look especially red..it does not look way out of the ordinary for a vagina. Vagina's naturally have some minor lump and bumps. And when its inflamed and has been burning, itchy and yeasty, it only makes it feel/look all the more different.

If its any consolation, the first time i got a yeast infection it was so bad, i scratched myself so red, raw and bloody i convinced myself i must have herpes and every little lump, bump and normal (yet oh so very swollen) skin variation of my vagina immediately became an STI and it was terrifying. Till i went to the doctor and she took one look and said "nope! not herpes! just yeast!"

The bleeding you mentioned in your previous post could have just been from further irritation to an already overly sensitive area. The bits you felt were bulging are probably just swollen bits because of the yeast and the scratching and irritation, the penetration probably made things a bit worse as well. Sometimes its really surprising how much something can swell without realizing it till you take one look and go "GAH! totally different from the last time i checked..maybe scratching with fingernails was a terrible idea"

Have you checked out the YI entry (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=Yeast_Infection) of the Vuvlapedia for other YI treatment options? There are a few in there that might give you some relief a little faster then just waiting for the diflucan to work. Sitting on a bag of frozen vegetables would probably be very helpful, along with taking some probiotics like acidophilus.

But like the other commenter said, if you feel the doctor you went to the first time was not through enough, it's up to you to go back. Personally i'd wait it out and see if once your YI clears up everything goes back to normal, and i'd definitely wait on any sort of vaginal penetration till everything is no longer itchy/painful. Hope this helped!

You are welcome! It really does not look like herpes to me at all, it really does look like it could be a very irritated area that is suffering from yeast. I'm not doctor, but that is what it looks like to me. Glands definitely swell and get angry, especially when something is so itchy, one scratch and all the more blood/histamines are pumping to that area and it just makes it look/feel even worse.

I think regardless of you going to the doctor today you should tell your date to keep hands (and anything else) off the vagina. Not because you have an STI but because as you've learned contact usually makes things like yeast worse, and YI's can be passed on to your partner and things. Oral YI are really not fun!

I've read many a miserable YI sufferer on VP have diflucan do absolutely nothing for them and i've read about it doing wonders as well. Personally when i've taken Diflucan in the past, its cleared things up in 2 days, 3 days, 4 days and not at all! So your mileage my vary!

Yeah, I agree with this.

The bumps don't even look abnormal at all to me, though I know they are to the OP. Maybe it's just a YI that's irritated the area and caused the normal glands to get swollen and angry?

As far as the bleeding from the irritation, I would say it's probably very possible. I've had an irritated cervix for about 2 years now (3 docs so far haven't done anything but prescribe antibiotics, sigh), and every time something even just bumps it (like me removing my nuvaring, or sex, or anything at all) it bleeds bright red for a day or two and then slows to brown old-blood discharge. The irritation is bright pink and bumpy like you described your vaginal walls being.

Hope this helps some!
