I took a photo to see if I could get a look at what was really going on with the bumps I felt with my finger. It looks like there are in fact several of them and they look frightening to me. I have no idea what this could be. Could yeast infection cause something that looks like this? Could it be an STD? Why didn't the doctor think this was out of the ordinary??? I really am feeling scared now, if anyone can identify what this is I'd really appreciate it. I might just go back to urgent care tomorrow, this just doesn't look ok.
Don't mind the stupid bits of toilet paper I didn't know were stuck to me lol. So I pulled it open a bit and you can see just inside a group of...something??? I can see why I bled now, one of these must have popped...ugh...eww. :(

One more note...the burning started immediately during sex with someone using a condom and so I initially thought I was having an allergic reaction to the condom. Could it possibly still be that over a week later? I just don't know...

Date: 2008-08-30 12:57 pm (UTC)If its any consolation, the first time i got a yeast infection it was so bad, i scratched myself so red, raw and bloody i convinced myself i must have herpes and every little lump, bump and normal (yet oh so very swollen) skin variation of my vagina immediately became an STI and it was terrifying. Till i went to the doctor and she took one look and said "nope! not herpes! just yeast!"
The bleeding you mentioned in your previous post could have just been from further irritation to an already overly sensitive area. The bits you felt were bulging are probably just swollen bits because of the yeast and the scratching and irritation, the penetration probably made things a bit worse as well. Sometimes its really surprising how much something can swell without realizing it till you take one look and go "GAH! totally different from the last time i checked..maybe scratching with fingernails was a terrible idea"
Have you checked out the YI entry (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=Yeast_Infection) of the Vuvlapedia for other YI treatment options? There are a few in there that might give you some relief a little faster then just waiting for the diflucan to work. Sitting on a bag of frozen vegetables would probably be very helpful, along with taking some probiotics like acidophilus.
But like the other commenter said, if you feel the doctor you went to the first time was not through enough, it's up to you to go back. Personally i'd wait it out and see if once your YI clears up everything goes back to normal, and i'd definitely wait on any sort of vaginal penetration till everything is no longer itchy/painful. Hope this helped!

Date: 2008-08-30 04:21 pm (UTC)I looked stuff up last night trying to identify it and did find some sites that said YI can blister but it's rare, others said they don't and it's probably Herpes. I'm still hoping it's YI since I don't have the other symptoms of Herpes i.e. yellow discharge and the flu.
I'm torn on whether to go back to the doctor today. I have that date tomorrow and I don't wanna be like...so, um, better not touch me down there, I have unidentified blistering...lol that's hot. ;) I mean if it's just yeast I can just say that and suggest we do things other than penetration but I don't wanna pass on a possible STI.
Thanks for the link and suggestions, I will try them, do you know how long it would normally take for Diflucan to clear it up? It's been 3 days today since I took it, I expected to be better by now.

Date: 2008-08-30 10:02 pm (UTC)I think regardless of you going to the doctor today you should tell your date to keep hands (and anything else) off the vagina. Not because you have an STI but because as you've learned contact usually makes things like yeast worse, and YI's can be passed on to your partner and things. Oral YI are really not fun!
I've read many a miserable YI sufferer on VP have diflucan do absolutely nothing for them and i've read about it doing wonders as well. Personally when i've taken Diflucan in the past, its cleared things up in 2 days, 3 days, 4 days and not at all! So your mileage my vary!

Date: 2008-08-31 08:22 pm (UTC)I told him yesterday, just said it was a YI, I'm pretty confident at this point that that is what it is. He didn't have a problem with it and we're not gonna go "there" lol.
Wow I didn't know Diflucan could be so hit and miss. Well they did tell me if it wasn't better over the weekend to come back, so we'll see how this week goes. Thanks again. :)

Date: 2008-08-30 07:28 pm (UTC)The bumps don't even look abnormal at all to me, though I know they are to the OP. Maybe it's just a YI that's irritated the area and caused the normal glands to get swollen and angry?
