has anyone ever gotten off while having a pap done? i'm just wondering 'cause i've never had one and since it goes into the same place for sex, i wonder if it would feel good for some girls.

i've never yet heard of this happening to anyone. i can certainly say that i think it would be really unusual. the whole thing is very business-like, and the pap itself hurts a very little bit. it's nothing like sex; attitudes are different, touches are impersonal, and the person having the pap done is usually kinda uncomfortable and mildly chilly if the exam room isn't really warm.

In about 20 pap smears (though I think the original poster meant "pelvic exam") I've only had a couple hurt, and then only in a slight scraping/pinching way. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with them. :(

Do you mean pap, or just a pelvic exam? Paps scrape, and though I've only had a couple that hurt a little, there's nothing very stimulating about them. The tool used to take the sample is very slender, and with the speculum there, I can't feel any aspect of it but the cervical scraping feeling.

If you mean pelvic exam, like with the doctors fingers and the speculum in the vagina, I'm sure someone out there somewhere has been stimulated by it, but I can't quite imagine it. The speculum just sits there, doesn't move much, if at all. The doctor's fingers, after the speculum is out, hold the internal organs in place while s/he feels around for them on the outside with the other hand -- that's got some interesting pressure, but has never been very sexual to me. And though s/he does poke around gently at the vulva to see if things look/feel normal, the only time my clit's been handled was when I had a pap smear *there*. Let me tell you, there's not much exciting about having the area around one's clit scraped with a plastic tool. (Don't worry, this almost certainly won't be part of your pelvic exam. I had one for suspected Human Papilloma Virus on my vulva.)

The pap smear, incidentally, is the test for dysplasia or HPV on the genitals, usually on the cervix. It's only a small part (and even then, not always part) of the pelvic exam.

i doubt it. it's like asking guys if they've ever gotten hard when the doctors grab 'em and do the "turn your head and cough" thing. even though they're touching yr sex organs, it's not in a sexy or arousing environment in the least. i've never heard of anyone getting aroused that way

as hard as it is to believe, a few of my guy friends have said that they've been turned on by it, but only when it's a "hot doctor" doing the exam. then they get embarrassed.

I have never gotten off on it, prior to pregnancy. I don't know why it felt good then. I doubt the doctor could even tell though. I think it might've been because I was 9 months pregnant and my doc told me I had to have sex to make sure my son came out. Apparently something in the sperm. I think anything is possible though.

Well, a pap and pelvic exam touch all the same places but in all the wrong ways! :) A metal or plastic speculum, a gloved hand shoved not always gently in to POKE your organs... a swab or piece of plastic to scrape cells off... just not the same. And there's nothing quite like lying in a cold, sterile office with your legs propped up in stirrups to kill romance. ;)

It's not a really horrible experience, but it's not a thrilling one either.

I hate both paps n pelvics. They're yucky, yet neccessary, things to have done. I would think only someone with a very high libido (or just plain kinky nature) would get-off on either. ;)

I read somewhere that doctors who go into OB/GYN fields are supposed to do everything they can do de-sexualize the experience, as well as make it as comfortable as possible.

It's pretty clinical, so I doubt many women have gotten off on it.
