I know that vaginal douches should be avoided like the plague - what about anal douches? I was on a sex toys website & an anal douche had about 7 reviews all giving it 10 stars, and was nonethewiser as to their safety!

A good thing to keep in mind is that not only alcohol gets absorbed, but so does any other chemical or nastiness you put up there. Anything with castille soap will give you some mad crazy unpleasant cramps. If you're planning on using this as a preparative for anal sex, you can get one of the bulb enemas, expel all the solution inside and refill it with water about as warm as you can stand on your wrist. Cold water = cramps, really hot water = not being able to hold it for long. I recommend aiming to hold the water for about 3-5 minutes, and then expel as normal. Give yourself ample time for the expulsion, as water has this way of creeping up a lot of places and not wanting to come back out right away. Another great tip if you're planning to use this for anal sex: once you're done with the water, draw up a small amount of lube in the bulb, insert it in your anus again, and just let the lube stay there. It's sort of like lubing up the parts in your car!
