(With regards to my previous post, if anybody ever needs AVC cream, apparently, a lot of pharmacies don't just have it around. They've got to call it in. So be ready for that if you ever need it. Thanks to those who responded!)

It started around August, either slightly before or slightly after I lost my virginity. It feels like urethral & maybe bladder pain to me, but my doctors have been rather insistent that it is my vagina. The pain is similar to that of a UTI. Somedays are better than others. Today was a crying, can't move day. At first we thought UTI. Nope. Then they found strep in my vagina. Lots of it. They thought that was the cause, but the antibiotics wiped out all the strep and viola--still pain. Do I have trich? No. Chlamydia? No. Gonnorhea? No. Herpes? No. I do have HPV and abnormal cells as a result of that. She thought maybe the HPV was causing the pain, but I have never ever ever heard of HPV having a symptom like this. We did ultrasounds on my kidneys, uterus, and ovaries. Clean, clean, clean. The strep came back recently and she's claiming that's why I hurt. But even after we took care of the strep before, there was horrible pain. My pee smells pretty strong and is cloudy. The WBC count in my pee is elevated, but there are no signs of bacteria in it. So my obvious question:

WHAT IN THE !@#$ IS WRONG WITH ME? How can I make this horrible pain go away? I am open to any and all theories. If anyone has been through something like this, please, please, please share your insight with me. I'm so desperate for answers and pain relief.

this is totally anecdotal. i have chronic UTIs, have since the age of 14 (23 now). whenever i've had a bad run, and then get things cleared up, i still have terrible UTI-like pain. i think it may be scarring of the urethra or something similar. it can take two months of nothing but drinking water and peeing every hour to clear up sometimes. i think the water may just be a placebo for me and it takes that long for all the tissue to heal up nicely (and the water keep any bacteria at bay).

it may be that you had a bad infection and have some residual pain. that's just my two cents.

My guess is it could by like idiopathic cystitis in cats... no known cause, but bladder and urethral inflammation.

I would try adding cranberry powder or extract pills to your diet and doubling your water intake. But that is about all the advice I can give you... other than I do sympathize with UTI pain though not in that extreme form!

Good luck...

If you say it's more bladder & urethral, then maybe it's interestial cystitis? You might have to see a urologist to rule that out.
