I got my period this morning 1.5 weeks early. I can not afford to have it right now and I need to find a way to end it. I have birth control pills (yaz) that I can use to stop it but I dont know how. Any opinions? advice?

Unfortunately, if your period has already started, I'm not sure how successful you'd be at stopping it. Sometimes, if you're already bleeding and you start taking BC, it'll shorten your period, but not always.

Agreed- BC may stop it in a couple days, or it may prolong it. I think you're forced to wait it out.

There's really not much you can do, I don't think. A lot (and I mean a LOT) of bearing down might shorten it a little bit, if you have that kinda dedication.

I'm pretty sure that's impossible.

When I did a daily orgasm for 3 days of my period, it shortened it by about a day... That's about all I can think of.

As some of the other posters said, starting the Yaz might shut up your uterus. Or it might not.

Luck!

So your placebo pills don't start for a week and a half, correct? It will screw up your cycle for a little while, but take one of the Yaz pills every 8 hours. The extra estrogen may cause nausea, but the extra hormones should stabilize the lining enough to stop the bleeding. I wouldn't continue like that for more than a few days, then taper down over a couple days and you should bleed again when you stop the pills (the placebo week). Good luck.

Will you still be protected from pregnancy if you do that?

You should be. All your doing is throwing extra hormones at the uterus to stabilize the lining for a short period of time. She's already been on this pack over two weeks so any change in the hormones is very unlikely to cause ovulation, especially with extra as opposed to missing pills.
